"I don’t remember who approached whom first, but the Appalachian Trail Conservancy and Tarma connected in 2007 when our then-sales manager, Teresa Tumblin, and Founder, Sky George met and talked at the Outdoor Retailer's Summer Market.
It was obvious that the jewelry was a perfect fit and a licensing agreement on the logos from us was a no-brainer.
Beyond that, Sky’s father was a longtime trail maintainer with our affiliated club, the Potomac Appalachian Trail Club, and the rightly proud builder — with a young Sky — of the Dick’s Dome Shelter in Northern Virginia. That made him family, so we were especially interested in the partnership, since our proceeds too, would go back to conservation of the trail.
Here are the Tarma products as they appear in our Harpers Ferry Visitors Center! They are consistent sellers throughout the year.
